I hated Devin Townsends - Ki. I was expecting something completely diff, it just bored me. I understand what he's trying to do with all these albums, I want the METAL one he is promising.

Haven't heard a lot that I'm aware was released this year, but Vanessa Van Basten's 'Psygnosis' is a pretty tidy little release. Habsyll - MMVIII sounds good from first impressions, will have to give it a few more listens.

Xasthur is as solid as ever with 'All Reflections Drained', some good tunes, but no suprises - standard Xasthur fare.

Mirag - Black Temple Carved in Smoke is a nice noisey drone release.

I would say Gigantic Brain - World, but there's not a whole lot of material on it that could be classified as metal and it hasn't technically been released yet.
