Whats the best Opeth intro. I say Blackwater park because it has something like three increasingly better riffs. But thats only because BWP and Deliverance are the only Opeth albums I own. I dont really know the other ones that well.

Blackwater Park is a brilliant piece of music. Layered with all of Opeth's trademarks.
The acoustic guitar then the crushing riff is my own personal Opeth moment.
"Confessor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Are we talking 'Introduction to Opeth' (Music) or best opening passage to an Opeth song, ie: Best Lead-in?

The best opening passages would probably be:
-The Apostle In Triumph
-The Moor
-Deliverance
-BWP

Or at least they are the ones I can think of now.

imho, the live version of advent. the intro is really short but it fucking kills, that song is better live than on record. check it out on the Inferno gig.

REVISION:
I know that intro is short and not that complicated but it builds up so nice and makes the rest of the song a masterpiece.

1. The Moor
2. The Leper Affinity
3. The Drapery Falls (with one of the best riffs I ever listen to)
4. Advent
5. Demon of the Faaaaaaarrrrrlllll :tickled:
6. To bid you farewell
7. The Apostle in Triumph

Agreed for Mayh :Spin:
