Best solo in SyX-song?

I'm getting bored to his ultra-fast solos. There's no doubt he is technically excellent guitarist, he's a truly riffmaster etc. but I've never heard a true "mountain solo" from him, why does his solos always have to be extremelely fast, is he unable to play an emotional slower solo or what's the problem? Anyway my favorite guitar solo is the first solo of the Haunting

Thats wierd, you get bored with the fast ones, I get bored with the slow, "emotional" ones.

RE: why does his solos always have to be extremelely fast, is he unable to play an emotional slower solo or what's the problem?

Romeo's playing is ALL on an emotional level. When he hit the point where he mastered the instrument technically, emotional intelligence took over. IMO around Twilight in Olympus. He is one of the very few who has been able to do it on this level. If you get a chance to watch him play "Looking Glass" or DWOT live, you would know what I mean. The man feels every note he plays.:) straight from his heart and soul. I admire him more than anyone. He's a musical genius.;)

I know this thread is like 100 days old, but I didn't want to make a new thread out of it. New members can now join in.

I can down it to some of my favourite(s).

*Beggining of the Accolade (for the sheer speed)
*Smoke and Mirrors (best neo-classical dual ever)
*The Turning (best keyboard/guitar interplay (not dual)
*Through the looking Glass (around 4 mins of the song - So fast with soo much emotion)
*DWoT (around 14 mins - So well thought out and tastfully done, so odd)

But if I had to pick one it would be around 14 mins of the Odessey. Its so well thought out out. Very tastfull with heaps of speed and wierdness - I love it.

Special mention goes to the whole-tone idea in Eyes of Medusa and Communion and the Oracle.

I still love Of Sins and Shadows. The Turning has that really cool guitar and keyboard interplay like Shred said (hey that rhymes!), and I'm also like the solo to A Fool's Paradise right now, especially Pinella's part.

The best emotional solo is "Shesmovedon" by Porcupine Tree...

I don't think any guitar solo fan could hate that solo...

As for Symphony X, the remake of Masquerade.. :D

Definitely the guitar solo in "The Eyes of Medusa". It's not over long and it's one of the few where Michael doesn't shred insanely. He has a regard for musiciality in this one.
