Blast Beats

Can somebody give me a clip of blast beats being played. I can't tell from other people's descriptions what they sound like.

And I'm almost 100% positive that Buddy Rich invented it, so if you can find some clips of him on some drumming website, you might see him doing it.

Ok, so then whoever posted this thread, imagine the bass drum going along with the snare. You can pretty much get a hint of what it is from those videos, I justn't couldn't find anymore.

Apart from the fact 99.99% of people can't do a gravity blast properly (go Flo \m/) where as any old man that has feet and hands still attached to his withered broken body can blast beat.

There are many variations on the blastbeat. Most are the ride (or hi-hat) and snare hit on alternating sixteenth notes. Bass drum could be with the ride, or it could be double bass matching the hands. Sometimes snare and cymbal are both played rapidly at the same time.

I've known Derek Roddy since 1990. Used to jam with him before he got the gig down in Florida. I remember sitting in the practice shed and watching him just go nuts behind his kit. He says that he'll play on the album I'm working on right now.
