First, elitists who care about "what is the BM that is allowed and what is not" may search for another thread to bash.

Those who still are in the thread, you might use your metal-wisdom and recommend me something that is similiar to Immortals last three albums. I dont care if its not a total clone, i just want something good and i enjoy them. I guess you would put them in the cathegory of "thrashy black" , right?

And yes, im a total ignorant little kid on BM.

Moonblood - Blut und Krieg is a good recommendation, but only if you don't mind fuzzy production. Fear not, though, every note can be heard and it's very epic.

Thanks, dudes.

I do like fuzzy sound. Well, depends. I consider even IX Equilibrium to be fuzzy, in a good way. Id say Anthems and In The Nightside... from Emperor would be too fuzzy to be the right kind of fuzzy for my taste, but i still like those albums. Stuff like older Immortal is definately not for me.

The greedy me wants more.

Would i propably like these:
-Behemoth
-Gorgoroth
-Carpathian Forest
-Stormlord
-Summoning
-Dissection

?

Behemoth are very good. As are Summoning. Stormlord is kind of goofy. Like a more "black"/folk CoB. Dissection's The Somberlain is essential, and Storm of the Light's Bane is also great.

Nothing really sounds like them last three albums, but with the thrashy riffing I think you would probably like Deströyer 666 a lot.

I'm assuming you've heard popular BM, so I'm ruling Nargaroth, Satyricon and Ulver out - not very much like Immortal but very good nonetheless.

Get INRI by Sarcofago. Storm Of The Light's Bane is mind-blowing. Get Melechesh, Kult Ov Azel (Occulus Infernum), Judas Iscariot, Graveland (In The Glare Of Burning Churches) and Belphegor (Lucifer Incestus).

You'll probably hate Dimmu Borgir. In any case, I suggest you give better bands a try first.

Stay away from raw black metal, as you would not like it. There are many more raw black metal bands out there than there are bands that play anything similar to Immortal's later works. This recommendation has nothing to do with the quality of the music. For instance, Darkthrone's Transylvanian Hunger is a great CD, but you definitely would not like it.

Popular and well known BM: i know most of them by name and have heard stuff about them. For example i can imagine what Darkthrone is like, since ive heard alot about it.
About Dimmu. Well, i consider Dimmu to be good/bad mixture. Sometimes the beating bass is too much dominating(the last two albums), and sometimes the atmosphere is just not..atmospheric enough (Mourning Palace).
In Deaths Embrace and Tormentor Of Christian Souls are examples of great Dimmu songs, as are Sympozium, Vind(something, the fourth track on DCA), Lepers Among Us and so on. So id say this: Dimmu has moments when they do their thing well and moments when they get too 'bleh'.

Would i be very wrong if i said Dark Funeral is raw BM? Anyway, its nice live but thats it.

Obviously I agree, but hey, better to recommend something good than something that fits the crappy request. Let's not start flaming.

No offense to you G.O.D. but...

I actually believe it would be better to not recommend anything at all as this thread starter obviously has a very dense appreciation for "qaulity" black metal in general. These are the types of "surface scratchers" that are totally non-deserving of any musical knowledge/advice period IMO.

Hahaha what are you on about? The thread creator politely asked for black metal similar to something specific and you're saying he has no right to learn anything? At least he is trying to get into BM, whereas we have these kiddies who are really "non-deserving of any musical knowledge/advice period IMO" in topics saying all black metal is terrible and all the production sucks and THRASH 4EVAR. Honestly. Read before you speak.

What the thread starter is looking for isn't even black metal in the true sense. Some of us may not like the style he is looking for, but I will still make recommendations.

EternalEnemy, also check out the new Mayhem CD, Chimera. I think you would like it. In terms of more underground bands, check out Mjolnir; their music is fast for the most part, but the production is good and the riffing style is not unlike that of more recent Immortal, though I think that they do it far better. Astrofaes, Aborym, and Dark Fortress are some other underground bm bands you may like. You may also want to check out 1349, Dub Buk, Taake, and Limbonic Art, though they play a more atmospheric, though well produced, brand of bm.
