BORKNAGAR update

Tyr do you know if there will be an enhanced cd, like with Epic, containing footage of you guys recording the album? assuming some of your recording sessions have been filmed, of course. that would be pretty cool, i love the video on the slipcase version of Epic.

As far as I know, no. But I may be mistaken, all I know is that I've seen no cameras around me whilst I was recording here at home....

did you record the all bass at home..?
it's remarkable that you folks record most of an entire album in your comfortable homes, and deliver such incredible music each time. while other bands record everything in these special studio's and come up with crap after crap...

too bad about the video, btw.

Hehe.. Not that you know of, no. :p

Anyway, I remember Øystein saying something about enhanced CDs, and as I recall, he didn't completely blow it off, but it didn't sound like it was very likely, at least not right now.

But I suggest that the Borkendales shoot some video clips during the recording and publish them here. I think it's better that we get some clips now and then instead of having to buy a release with limited edition of a CD we've already got, just for the collection's sake. I'm really not fond of producing two versions. I think that it's better to just have one great version.

Anyhow, that's just my opinions.:loco:

why not just buy the limited cd right away? of course, that's my opinion ;)
i also had two Epic's when they came out, but sold the normal version on eBay. some morons actually bid higher than what i paid for it in the first place.. hehe

Of course you can buy the limited editionright away, but in this case a limited edition wouldn't be released at the same time as the original, as I understood it.

Yeah, in this day and age with computers and digital technology playing such a vast role in our daily lives, we can now record studio quality recordings for DVD-Audio using just a home computer, quality software at a decent price and amplifier/cabinet emulator hardware in your apartment at 2 a.m. without the risk of waking our significant others or possibly getting an eviction notice.

Man, I love technology. :kickass:

I suspect some of you guys will be happy to know that I am currently transcibing all the basslines for this album in both tab and notation, and I hope to make them available for you through borknagar.com .
This will coincide with the release of the album, if not later :p

Woo-hoo! Great dual news! I'm waiting a long time for this acoustic album. Maybe because I never heard nothing like this, a mix between extreme and serenity haha.

And thanks for the basslines! I will appreciate it!

Caçador de Recompensas

This is great;D I just got into Borknagar after knowing that Mr V is the vocalist. Ive got a bunch of albums to buy, and im glad Tyr is playing the fretless on the whole album=D Sounded great on Empiricism. Tyr, make sure we hear those low frequencies^^

Amazing, some of my favourite Mr V moments are when he sings on acoustic tracks so I'm sure you guys will make it something really special

For the band: the “making of Epic” was great but why don’t you put some live video on the new CD, maybe something filmed at the Inferno 2006. It would be great for all of us who have never seen Borknagar live.
Hail

nah, i think the live and rare footage should be released on a seperate dvd.
or perhaps a special edition with both the new cd & dvd. like Immortal's Sons of northern darkness Deluxe edition.

This is going to be epic. I just know it.

EDIT: Omg, and it's the day after my birthday! (29th)
I could NOT have gotten a better gift :)

I can think of one thing, but I don't see it happening... one can dream though.
Of course. They could have played a gig at the venue here in my town. But let's be realistic

Haha, exactly.
Last year on my birthday I got to see Day Of The Equinox festival, which had Unexpect and Green Carnation play, along with some others... that was pretty awesome.
