BUGERA + MESA CAB!!!

Lol ^^^

Yeah man, I'm still loving my 333. Into my oversized Mesa 4x12 it sounds great. Just finishing up a project where all the guitars were done through that setup. It's more rock than metal but I may post a clip of a song or two. I'll talk to the guys.

I know the Bugera rep liked the rough mix :)

Why does everyone call Bugera a rippoff of a 5150 when.....i'm pretty sure a 5150 was just as much of a blatant Soldano ripoff if not more than the bugera....

Nice tone btw

It's more of a 6505 ripoff in the fact that it's called the 6262, and then there's the looks department... if you squint they look quite similar. Same idea with the XXX/JSX lookin thing.

the 6505 is the exact same amp as the 5150 and the 6505+ is the exact same amp as the 5150 mkII.
So the other dudes are right in saying it's a 5150 rip ;)

You really felt I needed to know that???

The name is quite reminiscent of the 6505 name, which makes this more of a 6505 inspired amp, rather than a 5150 inspired amp. Agree? I do know that 6505's are the same as 5150's.

It's like a tier of clones, decending price-wise

SLO
5150
6262

And by the way, is the original link still valid? I can't listen to that clip worth a damn.

As for Bugera's being imitations and so on, after hearing many 5150's lately, they sound close but a bugera and a peavey can be told apart very quickly. The highs have been rolled off a little on the Bugera, it's not as bity and the low end is a little tighter IMO. The mids are a little more accented but it sounds like it's in a different region also :)
)

I heard melb-shredder´s comparison clips on soundclick (test 3 and test2) where he put the same riff throug both heads and a noticeable difference is there in the highs.
however in those clips it seems that the highs rolled off in the 6505 and not in the bugera i.e. it seems to me that the point made be melbS is the other way around!?

Well, 90% true, since the 5150 has a few differences (one more gain stage, some different filters, a solid state fx-loop...) compared to the SLO... it's indeed a SLO "based" amp (like the Recto and the Framus for example) but not a real "clone"...

I thought it was more 5150 inspired since the actual copy of the 5150 is called the 6260, the 6262 is the 5150 II copy. Not that it really matters...

So, from what I understand a different cab could make my 6260 sound different, potentially getting me the sound I would prefer? Also, maybe a silly question, but here goes; what would the difference be between the sound attained from EL34 tubes versus the 6L6s it has right now? I want to have a sound similar to that of Dave Mustaine, so if the EL34s would get me closer that would probably be what I want to do. Cheers in advance.
