one problem/issue: how do I mount it on a mic stand? Anyone got any ideas?

Couldnt you create a base for it, maybe out of wood, say a few inches deep? Make a recessed hole to slide over a stand or something?

Or fuck, just set it up on top of something tall?

Maybe create a wall mount, that you can attach/remove from the wall, that you can mount the box to without causing damage to the wall?

I've built those sorts of foam boxes lots of times. They work pretty well with the gross early reflections in bad rooms.

well, this is for a portable VO job, and portable recording gigs in general... putting it on a mic stand would be ideal...

i hole on the bottom might work, but what would hold it to the mic that wouldnt look "too" ghetto?
