can anyone honestly say a band has changed their life and provide an example

Bob Dylan gave me the courage to care less about what other people think.

Pantera gave me the courage to get off of the beaten path and live my own life.

Would I have done the same things without those bands? Nope.

If I hadn't heard Metallica in 1990 I'd not be the person I am today. I've played in some awesome bands, travelled all round Europe to some of the best festivals, been to so many awesome parties, got loads of awesome metal friends. Metallica and metal totally shaped the way I am, and definitely in a good way. I wouldn't change a thing.... I even had Nothing Else Matters as my first song at my wedding!

Still, I fucking hate Metallica now though.......

Look at 60s rock and 80s norwegian black metal, both big cultural influences.
A: You mean 90's Norwegian Black Metal
B: It was a big cultural influence on like 10 people

I even had Nothing Else Matters as my first song at my wedding!

Still, I fucking hate Metallica now though.......
Nothing surprising there...it's a perfectly good wedding song - calm, sappy love ballad type thing with the big climax...
There's no need to hate on Metallica just because you don't like the music they make anymore.
