Car Speakers

I dunno about the car speakers, but I did own a pair of bose in ear headphones. They broke after a month, the connection wire just came straight off. I had these on nothing but my ipod too. $100 down the drain, though the sound quality was good, it was also pretty low. they lower the volume output to get the deep reverb and bass those headphones get.

I just remembered I have a pair of 6.5" Polk Audio DB650's taht I had in my Tercel that I wrecked last summer. These can go in my doors, which were in the back of my Tercel, lol. So, I just need to pick out a good pair of 6x9's. Unless I get a little nutty and want to upgrade my 6.5's as well. But I dunno.

Infinities are great but are usually power hungry so if you are going to use them with your original headunit, I would reco looking somewhere else.
The Polks are a good choice all around. Try to get the same brand for all around the car for a seamless sound ...

But really, ANY aftermarket speaker is an improvement over factory ones.

I have a full Bose package with sub and all in the Mazda, came part of one of the "packages" and while they are loud and seem "limitless" power wise, I hate freaking Bose, so trebbly and unnatural sounding.

go for the infinities then ... much better low end for doom than Polk which don't like bass too much, especially when cranked.

swap out the fronts also ... most of the sound you will hear are from them. actually try to put most of the money in the fronts ... I saw those Kappa's for the rear and they are sweet, but you can spend a little less as most 6x9's do bass well ... but you don't have to go that expensive.

are your rears door mounted or rear deck?

Rear deck.

I was thinking these for the front -- http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=400&i=1086022SI&tp=105

edit - those are the cheapest Infinity 6x9 that fit my car. Might as well do it right I guess.

nice, i think that set will sound sweet and you can always take them with you to the next car.

Play with the fader also when you install them as the front highs might overpower the rears.

so when are you coming down to NY to demo them?
