I agree too. Was hanging with another band a few years back & the driver got so pissed off with these 2 particularly annoying girls he shut the doors & drove round the corner just to get away from them, leaving the singer & a couple of crew still outside!
Probably just a breakdown in communication. Maybe Alexi DID wanna go back out, but got out-voted.

I'm just glad i didn't wait around then... I was going to but the people i was with weren't the biggest bodom fans and they wanted to leave so i jsut decided to leave with them but glad i did now since that happened. Fair enough not wanting to stay and meet all the fans and stuff but to say that they were going to go out then just drive away is pretty dickish. I guess it is easy to take the people on stage as what they are like in real life when they're nothing like that lol.

Cannibal Corpse on the other hand were very nice met George up at the bar and he was more than happy to talk to any fans, even told people on stage that he would see anyone he hadn't talked to up at the bar. Can't wait till they come back, want to meet the rest of the guys and actually get some pics this time

Cannibal Corpse were the nicest,most charming,funny and friendly 'rockstars' I've ever talked to! George and Paul seperately spent half an hour each just talking with me and some friends before the Nottingham show. George actually came over to us for a chat! Really respect them for that,pity about the music

That said they're nowhere near as popular as Bodom and especially since cob are headlining, the amount of fans that constantly want them to get in pics and sign stuff must be frustrating..in the support slot and with less people around who recognise them no wonder CC seem to treat the fans better..I wouldn't hold it against cob, it's not arrogance or ignorance of the fanbase on their part it's just like Undefined said,they need a break to be themselves and not surrounded by people who obsess about them and the music all the time,it's just human nature and I think in their position it's understandable. I don't mean it's acceptable to blow off your fans just that I can see why they mightn't always be up for it all the time.

Bodombitchbecky and everyone else who got stood up by the band this time just should know that it's not anything personal,they shouldn't hold a grudge against the band for it. If Alexi had said 'I'm sorry guys,I'm tired,can't sign anything' he'd likely get moshed by fans all asking to just sign their ticket or to just get a pic with them, and he'd end up standing in photos for half the night and listening to endless comments about how great he is when after the gig he probably just wants to get away from the attention. Even if there weren't that many people waiting its understandable in their situation. I'ts not justifiable really but it's reasonable that they need their space.
Everyone knows that and are just pissed because it had to happen to them.I know I'd be unbelievably pissed if they'd told me they'd come back off and then drove away but it's nothing personal and bodom do take quite good care of the fans in general, you just happened to be in a bad place at a bad time. It's unlucky but there's no need to stop supporting the band because of it. You paid to see the show and got the show, anything else is a bonus not something you should feel you're entitled to.

Whatever reason, the fans should get to know they/he werent comming out anyway, since they were promissed they would. Thats why they stood there still waiting for ages. Lack of respect to other people, fans or whoever. An excuse somehow should be given, imo

It'd be stupid not to.

I'm still gonna listen to them, buy their merch and go to their shows, it was just a pissy thing to do, and the least they could have done was to ask the driver or someone to just pass on the message that they didn't want to come out, that would have been perfectly acceptable.

It wouldn't be perfectably acceptable to some people though. I'll bet if the driver had turned around and told the fans 'Sorry but the band doesn't actually want to come out to you guys so bye' and drove off, this thread would have still definately been posted. Sure it might have been more polite to say they were heading off but it would still get the same reaction of 'the band doesn't give a shite about the people who got them where they are,they couldn't spend ten minutes,blah,blah,blah' from most people involved anyway..

And have the kids riot, cut their wrists or attack the messenger? It was a shitty thing to do, probably not meant personally to the fans and if you look it over all, CoB is pretty good to their fans compared to other bands. And think about how you would be touring as much as they did in a row, every night the same shit different town, cut them a break They played a good show for you, isn't that enough?

I don't see how that is relevant at all... this wasn't some big commitment to something that was hard to do. All he had to do was say we really need to go, we're tired. Or at least come out after he went on the bus and say change of plans, need to leave straight away or some shit. Not just lie to the fans and completely ignore them...

If he said that, the fans wouldn't let him get in the bus, "just a couple of minutes pleaase ooh come on we love you please stay for a while sign my face please" It's easier to get rid of them by saying "we'll be back" and I can't believe this is still going on, just forget about this!!

Just to prove a point, at the London forum gig yesterday Alexi came out before heading off to the afterparty and was in a great mood, friendly and happy to chat to the people that had waited for the band to come out and I'm fairly sure he actually turned down a lift to the party with the rest of the band because he was busy talking with us..or maybe the car was full..:Smug: anyway he was totally fine with staying talking longer.Just goes to show you shouldn't judge him or any of the band members on their actions one night when generally they do seem to show appreciation for our support at the gigs.
CC and Diablo also spent ages out chatting with us so respect again for them for being nice, down to earth guys.

i have met many bands who HAV ALL made the efort no matter how little time they have to meet nd greet there fans.
i am very dissapointed in bodom 4 this nd wont be supportin them in the future.
