I don't know how many people have ever read this book, but this one came out quite a while ago. Chuck Eddy is a major critic for Rolling Stone and expert on heavy rock. When he put out this book he got in big trouble with some critics and mostly metal fans with what albums he had on the list, especially artists he left off, including Priest, Iron Maiden, etc, who Eddy thought sucked. The main problem stems from the fact that Eddy has a VERY open minded view of what Metal is. Any album that had fifty percent loud songs was considered metal, at least to him.

Led Zep's Zoso is number one! Hair bands dominate, like Kix and Def Leppard. A teena Marie--an r&b singer--album is number 9! Prince's Purple Rain is number 69! Punk bands like Black Flag and noise bands like Can are also on the list. Funkadelic are on the list. You should read this book--will piss you off, but it has very provacative ideas.
