i am making this thread for all the cob's fans who like their older stuff. I have been a huge fan of the band but have not been listening to their newer stuff to due to their new sound. But i have recently come across a band that reminds me of the old cob stuff. Their producer is Anssi Kippo who has also been the producer of cob's previous albums. If you are a big fan of the older cob stuff please help me promote this band coz they have the sound which i luv. I just heard some stuff on their myspace and they are releasing an EP soon it seems the 2nd song sound so much like something that should have been on follow the reaper \m/ too bad its only a sample yet, please take a look and share your thoughts here. Their myspace is:

EDIT:

i just got the the leak to their EP, and it turns out that the unreleased 2 tracks are actually the best sounding of them all. Their sound is kinda a mixture of COB, Arch Enemy, Kalmah, Eternal Tears of Sorrow, Dark Tranquillity from my view. Here is the link for downloading it:

yeah, me neither. Looks like they are new and this is their debut that is coming out in March. I am really looking forward to the release, i have been waiting for a band like this for years after cob started to change...

well its obvious that all of us wouldnt have the same taste and i do believe their song "Temptress of Shadows" does sound too much Bodom influenced. But i like the first song "Antidote of Realism" does sound quite different and do have an own sound of itself. The riffs, vocal melodies, solos and everything actually do sound different. And i guess they wouldnt have released the best songs before the release of the EP so maybe the best is yet to come. What i am trying to say here is that there are good melodeath bands out there like norther, kalmah and eternal tears of sorrow but thats basically it. We dont have much to choose from. And its rare to see a newcomer sound this good, guys they are unsigned and they are about to release their debut yet look at the production quality, its as good as a signed band. This is definitely better than those new age crap thats emerging everyday. And i am sure Marco and Kevin wouldnt have joined a totally new band for no reason, they play for big bands you know. I am expecting a lot from this band and am sure that the remaining songs are gonna be awsome...

I don't think they sound a lot like bodom, but I do like them.

They definitely fit in that, COB/Norther/Kalamah/Eternal Tears of Sorrow/Dark Tranquility type of sound. They remind me the most of Norther and Kalmah (riff wise) actually, if I had to choose a band to compare them. I'm not a big fan of their vocalist and I feel like they are burying him in the mix to hide it. But overall good band, and I think they have a lot of potential

Something is wrong with my browser lately, won't display the media player in myspace layouts. I figured I may as well ask here. I re-installed the adobe flash player but nothing...

I didn't mind it, mate, but didn't find it to be anything overly special.

And I find that the vocalist sounds like he's trying to emulate Alexi. Right down to the "yaow"s.

They're good,I think the singer sound too much like alexi! but I think their guitar sound is really thin,it doesn't really sound like old bodom tone but actually blooddrunk tone but a little worse.

they're singing about drugs and drugs are bad m'kay?

edit:
wait, they have blast beats and it sounds well produced!
but the yaow ! yaow ! yaow ! yaow ! yaow ! is a bit too much Bodom

for me the vocals sound different from each other on all 4 songs, "Now I've Waken" showing difference the most. The song "temptress of shadows" does seem to have be much bodom influenced. And the Yaow! doesnt come in any other song other than that.

You don't need to justify yourself or the band :loll:
it's allright, they sound ok, not that fakish but nothing speical too.
