Colour Haze is officially the greatest band ever, seriously.

I haven't heard colour haze yet, but I'm pretty sure that it's stoner stuff that I wouldn't really get into.

I should probably listen though just to make sure.

you'd probably be surprised. edit: @moose

and it's got a lot more going for it than typical "stoner" riffs or whateva your interpretation of said genre amounts to.

Sample Colour Haze Lyrics

Why boasteth thyself
Oh, evil men
Playing smart
And not being clever?
I said, you're working iniquity
To achieve vanity (if a-so a-so)
But the goodness of Jah, Jah
I-dureth for-I-ver

So if you are the big tree
We are the small axe
Agalloch to cut you down (well sharp)
To cut you down

These are the words
Mistah Haughm, keep on tellin' me
No weak heart
Shall prosper
And whosoever diggeth a pit
Shall fall in it, fall in it
And whosoever diggeth a pit
Shall fall in it (... fall in it)

If you are the big shrub, let me tell you that
We are the small axe, sharp and ready
Ready to cut you down (well sharp)
To cut you down

(To cut you down)

(To cut you down)

These are the words
Of Mistah Haughm, tellin' me that
No weak heart
Shall prosper
And whosoever receiveth a wooden box
shall receive a bone, oh yeah
And whosoever diggeth a pit
Shall bury in it, uh (... bury in it)

If you are the big, big shrub
We are the small axe
Ready to cut you down (well sharp)
To cut you down
If you are the big, big shrub, let me tell you that
We are the small axe
Ready to cut you down (well sharp)
To cut you down
Sharpened ...

It is... It's hard to even describe their music to other people...because it isn't like any other stoner rock bands.

I don't think I can consider them a jam band, but they have a jam band vibe their music is alway coherent, and seems to stay together, kind of like post-rock stuff.

yes, the biggest influence is apparantly 70s. They take a lot from their krautrocking forefathers, which is in part why you hear that "jamband" sound in there, among the other recent scenes that are taking cues from there.

I have a hard time describing non metal bands.... basically because I listen to so much metal.
