I think Sabbath is kind of calming, but much of it, for me, is just cuz of my history "with" the band. Like an old, comfy pair of slippers, you know?

When I relax I don't listen to metal, rather I listen to The Doors or Led Zeppelin, or some blues. I need more blues stuff, my collection is very limited.

comfort metal? I guess any metal which is awesome but not too emotional. I actually like stuff like pink floyd is what I really like to listen to when I'm down. Tool, king crimson, old judas priest and iron maiden, john coltrane, duke ellington, NIN. Anything either with a lot of layers and complexities or something that has that olden vibe to it (not as in country, more like mediocre production and a sort of rocking jamish feel). I associate a lot w/ old jazz because I play saxophone.
