I don't mean to alarm you too much but, personally, i'll be surprised if you can get life into that HDD again, it certainly does not sound good for it, HDD's are sensitive things

^ Frank, what do you think the problem is? Do you think it could be the HDD or the sATA power cable?

With a blue spark there is definitely more than a simple cable that went to shit.

I've heard people having a blue spark, and it was the PSU.

I do believe they were sATA yes.

Right, I was trying to connect a sATA power cable in to the space of an old IDE connection...as you can see, the old one is long, the newer one is short, so I was moving it about in the space, trying to get it to work!! And the blue spark went and it all died.

But if he was plugging the wrong type of power from the PSU in then that spark most likely fried the HDD.

Oh I see, thanks for the info. How bad, though... :( ...computers and such stuff are so delicate.

I'll see if I know someone with a spare PSU that I can borrow, or some form of tester etc.

Is there any way of powering up the HDD without the pc actually running? So I can test if it's dead or not?

Well if you just attach it to someone elses PC they can boot their windows and then just browse your HDD like an external drive (so to speak) to see if your files are still there, if thats what you mean anyway.

IT'S STILL CONNECTED TO THE PSU LEARN TO COMPUTAR

Do this, Mitch.

Just make sure they don't see the porno, possible government secrets and dirty pictures.

Yeah, I knew that option, but I meant is there anyway I could get it running without viewing it on a pc, just powering it up so I know it's working...

Like switching on a pc without switching on the monitor...

If not, then I'll just have to do it the other way. The trouble is, finding someone unselfish enough for me to take the computer apart and install stuff into it, promising them that I won't break theirs too.

Didn't you say NOTHING worked when you try to turn it on? I don't know alot about the booting process but the PC should at least give some lights or shit even if the harddrive's broken, right?

It's easy, find someone with a windows computer with a sATA connection. Unscrew sideplate, plug harddrive in + power, boot.

Or you could always try to plug in your PSU and lick the cables, if you are man enough.

I know you think I'm a bellend, but I expected something more creative from you.

i'm not here for your entertainment ffs

Hey gus,

is it possible to slow down flash-animations? Not when I creat animations but already existing animations in the net. I know the faster or slower your pc is, the faster or slow run some animations but not all but can I change the tempo of a 60 sec flash animation to like 70 or 80 seconds?
