That's a fucking crazy setlist! Love to see that show over here! Good to see a nice representation of their mid to late '70's material. :headbang:

Midwest Metal Anthem - August 21 & 22

Doro - September 12 (still contemplating this one)

Edguy - September 13 (Mainly going for Epicurean and Luna Mortis. Edguy is entertaining but borderlines gayness)

Stratovarious - September 25 (I'm only going to this one to support locals Sacred Dawn.) NEVER been a Strato fan.

Moonspell/Samael - October 23 (FINALLY a headlining Moonspell show! This did already get moved from The Pearl Room to Capone's. Darn it.)

Bumping "old" threads is so much fun. :^)

It's true, I didn't visit The Pearl Room or Capone's for this year's CPF event. I've missed other CPF shows in the past, though, but now I guess this makes me a CPF infidel?

Will try to make it out to the following events in the near future:

- Trouble in Schaumburg, 7/24
- Blue Öyster Cult, Steppenwolf in Valpo, 7/25
- Dream Theater, Zappa Plays Zappa in Chicago, 8/23

Other possibilities exist but these are in the forefront.

La Rocque tries to time travel ...
I went to see Alan Parsons in concert last night but the concert is tonight
I'm always hours early for everything but never a day early
I guess when you have no job, no wife, no worries, no direction in life this sort of thing can happen
Hell, I don't even own a watch
I told a friend what happened and she said(in a joking way, I hope?)
that "I'm exhibiting the loss of cognitive abilities"

Oh well, I'll be seeing/hearing this soon ...
'pedal to the metal tour'
Mudvayne
Black Label Society
Static X
Suicide Silence
dope
Bury Your Dead
This tour should knock the cobwebs of Dementia out of my head -

^^ Wow dude! Can't say I've ever done that. I've had my concert snafus though, believe me. What sticks out the most is the time I went to a show holding the WRONG TICKET. It was a busy concert week and I got all discombobulated. I had to drive all the way back home (about 40 min each way) and get the appropriate ticket which was on my fridge. I made it back to the venue just in time for the headlining act. Whew!

Be sure to enjoy the show twice as much tonight. :)

Static X is still around? I really dug their debut - Wisconsin Death Trip (amazed I remembered the title on the fly), but after that they lost my interest.

May head out to the Trouble show next weekend. Would almost be a crime not to since it's so close to where I lay my head.

Current list:

07/19: Judas Priest
08/19: Heaven & Hell
09/02: The Cult
09/13: Edguy
09/19: Alice In Chains
09/22: Porcupine Tree
09/25: Pagan's Mind
10/29: Queensryche
11/01: Queensryche

September is going to be crazy!

Leaving for Austin's in Libertyville in a little bit for these guys! Can't wait to see them in a small room for $13.00!

How was LC? Haven't seen them in about...wow, 5 years or so since they made a drastic change to their sound IMO.

Have made some concrete decisions:

9/25 Stratovarius/Sacred Dawn
9/26 DOWN
10/23 Moonspell

More to come.

Lacuna Coil was awesome. A few hundred people TOPS in a very small room, if not less. I was in the 3rd row, right in front of Cristina all night. She said she was sick before they closed with Our Truth, but you never would have known - she sounded perfect all night, and performed at 110%.

They played mostly songs from Karmacode and Shallow Life, so anyone hung up on that would have complained. I love Karmacode anyways, so I was very happy. The Shallow Life songs sounded much better live, and they did three from Comalies (Heaven's A Lie, Daylight Dancer, Entwined).

Snagged a guitar/bass pick from Maki, since he was tossing a bunch into the crowd, and caught a drumstick that Criz used during the show. It's the first time in attendinig 54 concerts that I have ever caught a drumstick!

Video of To The Edge (taken by someone else), my favorite song of the night, since it's their heaviest song and the band's mass headbanging.
