Its highs reach higher than Fallen (Glemselens Elv in particular) but it isn't as consistent. Still a great album (Burzum's worst is still better than most band's best imo) but not quite there.

Man, i haven't listened to Burzum in a good while. I think i'm gonna pull those two albums out.

Hvis lyset tar oss would have easily made my top 10 metal albums a few years ago, but I rarely listen to Burzum these days. That album in particular is just an exhausting and draining experience.

I'm much more likely to throw on the classics by Mayhem, Immortal or Darkthrone if I'm in the mood for some Norwegian black metal.

Which is not doom metal, just regular heavy metal. I like Witchfinder General and Electric Wizard, but every other doom metal band is a rip off of Black Sabbath. Doom metal just lacks originality.

You cannot honest to God sit here and tell me with songs like After Forever, Lord of This World, and Into The Void that that album isn't at least half doom metal. Sabbath's first several records are foundational to doom metal, like it or not, from the arrangements, to Ozzy's vocal stylings, to Geezer's lyrics and Tony's chord progressions, that fucker is doom metal. It fits nigh if not every sonic criterion for it.
