i didn't mean 'flashy' as all fireworks and gloss, more like a lot of surface level appeal and a lack of staying power. i'm not really trying to criticise anyway, i like a lot of the stuff you guys are mentioning, just... enough with the favourable comparisons to burzum.

edit: and yeah, that riff in the HLTO title track is probably the most uplifting riff i've ever heard.

Edge of Sanity's only really good album is Unorthodox.

Unorthodox was the first EoS I heard and liked it the most and now that I have listened to their disco pretty extensively would say Purgatory Afterglow is bands best fullength in terms of sound/production creativity diversity skill and songwriting followed by The Spectral Sorrows after.

Its definitely better than Crimson II, i personally enjoy it alot.

It's pretty good, but kinda boring. It can seem overwhelming at first, but it grows on you, at least it did with me.
