Core?

Yeah the labelling is excessive to say the least...

I also hate the instant first riff "breakdown" which lasts the full song, but thats me moving into personal musical preference directions of which I wont start a debate about.

Unfortunately the Rate-My-Mix section has become almost useless.

I'm not one to generally bitch about the forum, but since there are so many "Pod+Slate=Core" mixes, many of the forum veterans don't even go in there. That makes it difficult for "intermediate" level guys like myself to get any input from the dudes who really know what they're doing. I posted a couple mixes with real drums a few months ago and I think one person replied. It's frustrating.

I get really tired of the constant division of metal into sub-genres. There's now more ways to make "metal" than there are ways to cook a damn steak. "Blackened Pagan Progressive Deathmall Doomcore with Post-rock elements...and a Mango Chutney". Makes me want to punch puppies.

Oh, and in case you were all wondering, I have already invented CoreCore, so don't even think about it. I got sick of it, so I invented Post-CoreCore, Regressive-CoreCore, and am now working on OldCore. That's really where my heart is now. It basically consists of me hollering at college kids to stop walking across my lawn and griping about property taxes over a musical background that consists of a blastbeats played on an Alesis SR-16 and a bass guitar played through a Crate G-10 practice amp.

I'll have to admit I browse this section by usernames and not thread titles, so I don't really care what the music is if the person who started the thread knows his stuff or at least has been helpful in some way to me or the forum.

for me there is only hardcore and metal......
A breakdown doesnt make a metal band hardcore.

End of the story

btw. sneap did a lot of metalcore and stuff....
Killswitch engage, despiced icon, as i lay dying, 36 crazyfitz the list goes on and on.

If its good music its good music, dont make your head explode because of all this sub-genre (and lifestyle decisions)

I'm a big fan of metalcore and many oher types of core. The only thing that bothers me really is tge fact that everyone is using slate+pod like it's the only way. But i'll let that slite if the outcome pleases my ears. I agree that theres so many bands sounding so much like each other that the difference is hard to hear. Those bands kinda juat get buried in the sea. But every once in a while i find some interesting bands in this genre.
