cradle of filth

I never said symphonic metal was a genre asshole, it just plainly explains how they play. And there is no goddamn thing such as "goth", if there is, then what is it if your so goddamn smart?

CoF has really only one symphonic album, suffice to say it is not accurate to call them 'Symphonic Metal' since they haven't continued in that direction. Goth's do exist. Gothic music exists as well as gothic artwork, architecture, photography etc. The two words do not convey the same meaning at all.

Well, on Dusk and Her Embrace you can find almost 50% black metal riffs. - That still doesn´t make a label.
and Vampyr: You think that Princible was black metal? Don´t you mean death metal?

I don't know why you would think Principle is death metal?

I've just recently, thanks to the n00bs infesting this board, come to the conclusion that 99% of the monkeys out there really have no clue what differs "death" from "black", or indeed what either genre sounds like at all.

Sad, sad, sad, sad.

I'll floor punch to that.

I'm not going to waste my time writing a huge essay to someone who is clearly completely ignorant and stubborn so just read this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goth
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goth_music

If you still don't believe it then, well, I can't help you. Nor do I want to.

I don't care about art or literature, tell me some acctual "goth" bands if there even is, which I seriously doubt, a goth isn't someone who wears leather with spikes and all that shit, so don't say Dimmu or Death, a real goth person couldn't care enough to even be in a band, neverthe less make albums to entertain others.

Gothic Bands: Bauhaus, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Southern Death Cult, Christian Death...

I have no idea what your argument is. Dimmu Borgir is certainly not a goth band and their music is certinaly not gothic...so why did you bring them up?

What is you definition of a 'real goth person'? Someone who is apathetic - like the billions of people in this world that are subject to depression or fatigue? Does that mean they are goth? I have no idea what you are aming at by simply stereotyping? Seriously, what are you talking about?

Dude. Read the articles. The first one explains goth culture as a whole and the second one specifically deals with gothic music. That is gothic music. I don't know what else you are expecting. It even has a detailed description of the various different 'waves' of gothic music together with the major bands that belonged to them. And a large list of gothic bands at the bottom of the page.

How can he both read the articles and not be proven wrong? Think of the logisticis of the actions you propose before you attempt to set them in motion.

Given that 90% of metal enthusiasts can't think for themselves, you should feel no remorse for listening to music that you enjoy. CoF is an image-oriented band, which is what makes them such an easy target for proclaimed elitists alike. If you like the theatrics and everything else that comes with the music though, then by all means like the band.

Well said.

And I try to define them as a melodic extreme metal band with black metal influences.
