Cryptopsy

I think None So Vile is pretty bad ass. I haven't really heard any other albums though. Lord Worm's growls go well with making the whole album brutal.

I agree, and I also want to check out some other albums. But I've been warned that they went downhill pretty fast.

Don't bother with anything outside of NSV, seriously. Worm sounds like crap on BMF (though maybe check that one out cuz a lot of people hold it in high-ish regard), and DiSalvo is horrid.

Cryptopsy bore me, I saw them live in August and 3 songs in I was literally yawning - After BMF I haven't liked anything they've done except the live album, Martin Lacroix's vocals are twice what Lord Worm's are.

I think the entire point is lord worm sounding like crap ha. Blasphemies Made Flesh is raw traditional and great death metal but overrated. I'm sure a lot of Cryptopsy fans don't like it because it's not really 'tech'.

What the shit, Andy

Fact: Lord Worm's VOKILLZ ATTACK on BMF is one of the finest DM vocal performances ever

I love him on NSV, he has the killer vibrato developed and everything, but on BMF everything he vocalizes sounds pretty much the same. I find it pretty damn bland.

Also what the fuck is at the beginning of Serial Messiah.

Not really. When people are new to metal, they haven't defined a standard of quality for the music they listen to yet, so they'll tend to listen to most anything that sounds good to them, regardless of whether the music "sucks" or not.

To me it seems like when I first got into metal I didn't like the bands then, and I like some now. When I first started liking metal I didn't like Frightmare and now their one of my favorite bands. I guess you can go in either direction.

That's sort of the problem with introducing people to it. I'm trying to get my brother to listen to some symphonic metal like Rhapsody (since he's a big classical/opera fan), but he doesn't want to get into it because he has no standard by which to judge it by.
