I'll probably have to agree with you here. I'm a big fan of Descent Into Chaos, too.

Absolutely. Theyre both killer, but SV takes the cake, Thomas absolutely kills on this record - and the guitar tone is just fucking brutal as all hell. One of the best death metal records I've heard...an absolute 10.

Emissaries didn't blow me away like Sphynx did, but it's still a very good album. I'd give it 9/10.

Djinn is a little different than the next two, but still very Melechesh. It's a little harsher, lots of blast beats. There are also some clean vocals, but not the chanting kind. A couple of songs even have a Mercyful Fate thing going on.
My favorite part of Djinn is the way the first two songs blends in to each other. The first track is a short, acoustic instrumental. Then Genies, Sorcerers And Mesopotamian Nights comes in playing the same melody. It really shows how the songwriting is based around an ancient, meditative, Mesopotamian folk theory.
Definitely a must if you're a fan.

Keep of Kalessin is black/thrash with one Satyricon member. Fast stuff, lots of riff, good production (not underproduced)

Not as good, no. They're still good releases though. Armada is just stunning.

In that vein, Carpathian Forest are excellent. Plus, I can say with some authority that their past two records have been awesome.
