Good lists everyone.

I've noticed a fair few of us have listed Morbid Angel's Altars of Madness. I think if I had to pick the best debut album, it would be Altars of Madness. It's such a great album, and as much as I enjoy Morbid Angel in general I feel it's by far their strongest record.

Though saying that, I think Decapitated's Winds of Creation is the most impressive debut album... mainly due to the fact that Vitek (who's performance on the album is one of the best drumming performances I have ever heard) was only 15 years old at the time of recording (I know, it's unbelievable!). His brother Vogg and vocalist Sauron were 18. I think that's an immense achievement in itself.
