Dan Swano and Sir Mikael

Not aware of one.

Mikeal's doing his sideproject with obscure Swedish guitarist and keyboardist from Spiritual Beggars... (I can never remember their names, sorry) and Dan's working on his solo project (possibly with help of his brother and old Unicorn bandmates).

Neither have said anything about a collaboration with the other, as far as I know (And, I've sent emails to both of them asking them about just that, and got no affirmative answers - that was a long time ago, though).

I just find it extremely sad when somebody that has done such great work in metal turns his back on it completely. The same thing happened with Varg Vikernes, but to me, he will always have been the greatest musician of all time. I know that he has decided to devote his time to his belief in national socialism and the the Heathen Front, and I respect him for that. It still saddens me, however, that he eventually turned his back on black metal, after he went down in the courts staying true to his "black metal self." Bard Eithun has still managed to somewhat be involved in extreme metal in Norway, and Snorre Ruch continued his work with Thorns after being released from prison. Honestly, I think Vikernes changed the style of Burzum's music to the synth/ambient material because synth and techno are big among the national socialists. I've read his response to why he changed styles, and I think that confirmed my opinion. Even though I like the late Burzum material, I really wish he would have continued with black metal that I adored.

Who do you mean? As far as I know both Mikael and Dan are still playing metal. =)

It's like that in the US? Because here in Sweden the NS-people's music isn't precicely techno... Most of them are more into their own "white power"-rock(?). Most of it is like badly played punk or something... but with "nationalistic" lyrics... bah.
And well.. the synth crowd. OK, a lot of them are totally freaked out about germany and go to parties and concerts dressed as members of the SS, but I think that many aren't that serious about it. It's just to be ..eh.. cool(?). Sure, there's a lot of racist opinions among the synth community (esp. noted when I was at the Tinitus festival in Stockholm some half a year ago), but NS? ...no...

In the US, synth and techno are even bigger among the NS crowd than the "white power rock," at least as far as I know of. The reason that I feel that Vikernes changed to the more synth format is that he explained that black metal was "alien music with aryan lyrics" and that the new material was "aryan music with aryan lyrics."
