The bass is easily heard in Transilvanian Hunger, it's just pretty minimal. Some people are just bad at listening to music I guess. Emperor was by far the worst culprit as far as BM bands with no bass.

I just never really gave BM a chance since what I heard of it really sucked EQ wise. I'm giving Under A Funeral Moon and Transilvanian Hunger a listen.

I've never heard of a release like that, and I find it highly doubtful since the albums came out on different labels.

Ok. There was one like that on eBay. Must be a boot or Eastern European "release" or something.

That is ridiculous. Because the production isn't "good" you won't listen to the music?

I love black metal production. I think the production on albums like UAFM and TH suit the music perfectly.
