dead bodies everywhere

these people have COMPLETELY LOST THEIR FUCKING MINDS.

Bush:

We've got a lot of rebuilding to do. First, we're going to save lives and stabilize the situation. And then we're going to help these communities rebuild. The good news is -- and it's hard for some to see it now -- that out of this chaos is going to come a fantastic Gulf Coast, like it was before. Out of the rubbles of Trent Lott's house -- he's lost his entire house -- there's going to be a fantastic house. And I'm looking forward to sitting on the porch. (Laughter.)

there is footage of bush hugging and consoling two women right now, and let me tell you this is destined to be a surreal classic

regarding those quotes from other countries, keep in mind that they are largely individual opinions--equivalent to the american assholes who said the asian tsunami happened because of thai transsexuals. that sri lankan asshole is a total retard--i can think of at least two specific instances in the asian tsunami where young women were pulled from the water and immediately raped, and there was, as nick said, widespread rape otherwise. i don't see what's wrong with the french quote at all.

the worst thing that has come from this has been a) the asshole looters shooting at ambulances and raping people and b) the assholes saying "cut the looters' balls off!!!! shoot to kill!!! we're gonna kick major ass!!!". including the gov of NO.

best thing: kayo dot's new orleans show is probably gonna be cancelled (?), so now they can play houston!

as I was saying, the long-time institutionalized racial inequality of the US is on show for the world here. there's no way white people would have to wait so long for help.

I'm glad to see that a number of foreign countries are contributing directly to the red cross and other relief agencies and not just waiting for the US to accept or decline their help.

haha I almost like Kanye West after he "ruined" the benefit show (according to Dummocrats.com) with his "George Bush doesn't care about black people" comment. did you see the video of that? Mike Myers looks shocked annd Chris Tucker totally fumbles the cut.

from the NY daily news

It began, fittingly enough, with jazz from New Orleans natives Harry Connick Jr. and Wynton Marsalis. But "A Concert for Hurricane Relief," a heartfelt and dignified benefit airing on NBC and other networks last night, took an unexpected turn, thanks to outspoken rapper Kanye West.

Appearing two-thirds through the program, West claimed, "George Bush doesn't care about black people," and said America is set up "to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off as slow as possible."

The show, simulcast from New York on NBC, MSNBC, CNBC and Pax, aired live on the East Coast, enabling the Grammy-winning rapper's outburst to go out uncensored.

Comedian Mike Myers was paired with West for a 90-second segment that began with Myers speaking of Katrina's devastation. Then, to Myers' evident surprise, West began a rant by saying, "I hate the way they portray us in the media. If you see a black family, it says they're looting. See a white family, it says they're looking for food."

NBC said in a statement that West's comments were unscripted and "in no way represent the views of the networks."
