Billy this has struck several people in my family, it took my grandmother at age 85.
My uncle 9 years my senior has it,,,he lost one leg from the knee down, and had a prostethic device installed.
months later he started losing his toes, and he took a big step and told them to take the other leg so he could have his mobility back.
because he voluntarily asked to have that section of leg removed he said they sent him a psychiatrist.
my uncle was steadfast in what he wanted,,,so he told the psychiatrist. that took of all of 5 minutes.
The psychiatrist asked if that was a golf course he passed on his left on the way into town...and my uncle looked at him and said, yep and its on your right on the way out...psychiatrist said have a nice day and that was that.
seeing him walk these past 2 years you'd barely know he had those limbs, he walks up to 3 miles at a time, and currently works as a courier across a large area.
in all honestly i think the battle has to do with attitude, in the end we all lose but its what we do to get to that point that makes a difference. All bullshit aside i don't see you as a quitter.
good luck and keep up on the diet and blood sugar.
