Dealing with Diabeties..

I'm very sorry to hear that. I've always been a huge fan of your music, and I was very glad to be able to meet you at the Baltimore/Buffalo shows in 05'. I wish you the best, and I'll definitely say some prayers for you. Take care!

change your diet, lose weight, then exercise more. The latter will help sensitize your body's cells to insulin, while the diet and the weight will allow you to use the insulin you have.

There are a few people who have reversed or become borderline diabetics that need no significant medication beyond the honeymoon period by doing the above.

I suppose he's got to lose weight, but I can't picture a thin Billy Milano. I mean, thanks to his size, he's more effective when some stupid idiot fucks around at his shows than any bouncer. I think any of us who've been to an MOD/SOD show has a story of Billy usin his Authorita to his fullest extent!

Yup...I've known Billy since around '81...he was definitely leaner, but a thin Billy would be bizarre.

You don't have to be super thin to be healthy.

There's a leaner Billy...and yo, Billy...I still want my UFO shirt back! 1981 The Wild, The Willing and The Innocent tour.

Diabetes, when controlled properly, won't make that much of a difference to your life. Honestly.

I've been diabetes since I was 7 ... just celebrated my 22nd year as a human pin cushion ... and i'm fighting fit. OK, I've got a bit of a beer belly starting now but ultimately I'm A OK. As of yet, it's never stopped me doing anything. Well, anything that I've actually wanted to do.

I've travelled the world, got stomped on in moshpits from the age of 13 till 17, then stomped on others since then :headbang: ... I used to play football (soccer) for years, but gave it up to drink beer. And yes, I like my beer, and whisky.

You don't have to give them up either.

Whilst the 4 injections a day can be a pain (literally) my diabetes has never bothered me. Hey, it could be worse. To be fair though, maybe being diagnosed so early really helped? I wasn't really used to any other "way of life" at 7 years old.

Anyway, it's ultimately about just being good to yourself. Being diabetic doesn't mean you can't drink, eat sugary crap or piss on the flowers. Everything in moderation is the key.

And Billy, if you're ever in Glasgow let me know and we'll go drink beer, eat donuts and see who can piss over the highest wall.
