Deathspell Omega - Paracletus

Malconfort is just one of the coolest, most intense tracks I've heard maybe ever.

I don't think people who hated Fas will like this, but I think this holds to repeat listens more than Fas does.

the intro is interesting because it sounds like Blut Aus Nord.

as far as the rest ... i think i finally figured out what DO sounds like ... you know when by accident you have 2 browser windows open and you have the same youtube video playing in both at the same time but each started at different times ... there you go!

I have listened to this about 10 times now, and I fucking love it. The melodies woven into the technical dissonance are fucking brilliant; they just come across as downright evil.

I just had 2 Deathspell tracks running at once, and I was thinking "Shit... this sounds good."
Having said that, I really like that Devouring Famine track, a lot.

Brilliant album. It is a musical novel in itself & ties the trilogie perfectly (which i would say really begins with Kénôse tbh).

Is there any evidence that Mikko Aspa is the vocalist? because i do not believe it despite similarities. I've noticed the way he (the singer) pronounces "sublime" sounds like the way a francophone might mistakenly pronounce it, & i've heard my wife say "vine-uh-ger" before, too :dopey:.

Also, it's spiffy that they use more French...
