If you use the letter p to replace the letter o, it's high time to get off your computer.

Edit- I'm also quite fascinated by this rocky mountain gig. However, what is the probability that it will follow the route of "Death in the Forest?"

It's officially run it's course. I'm also happy to see Gitmo and "we're pregnant" on that list, any man who says that with a straight face deserves a kick in the stomach.

evidently you guys don't quite appreciate what level of irony i'm operating on here

note: saying "pwn" has been gay as hell for about 6 years now

I'm not sure where I stand with Drudkh, but are there any other bands that have created a similar atmosphere similar to Autumn Aurora or Blood in our Wells? I'm not talking about artists where Drudkh might have drawn inspiration -- Ulver or Burzum -- but modern, relevant bands projecting a similar soundscape? I'd be very interested in exploring this avenue further.

Neither Drudkh's sound nor approach have ever struck as being that novel, even though they admittedly have some unique characteristics. But to be honest I can't really think of any band that sounds (just) like them --- where's Erik when we need him? For now, I'll just refer to my vague feeling of not liking them very much, to conclude that I must have heard something pretty similar to their music some other time ;)

Damn f'ing straight. That said, I've not heard anything previous to Si Monumental Circumcision.

I'd gladly upload some tracks if my computer was still functional, but as it is now I've no mp3s availible. I'll just let you know that http://www.hateful-metal.de/deathspell_inquisitors.htmlInquisitors of Satan is quite good and that the song The Suicide Curse, from their split with Clandestine Blaze, is in itself enough reason to get that disc.

Yeah, I'm just having a little difficulty buying this whole "Drudkh aren't doing anything new" challenge. I'm not suggesting that they're revolutionizing anything, but surely they've paid their dues.

Perhaps the music is reasonably 'diluted' (aka not manic or radical enough to have people perk up with immediate interest) and so people just assume that it's all being done in abundance. I don't think it is -- granted, I haven't hunted high and low -- but I'd love for someone here to list me 5 bands that are all making music like "Autumn Aurora" etc, right down to the intricate details of the magnificent drumming / percussion, surely one of the standout features.

@Necuratul - thanks for the uploads.

Hmm, Branikald were doing something quite similar to Drudkh, at least on their 96 demo "Rdjandalir". Perhaps its' just my imagination though. I'll upload some tracks soonish to see if others share my view.
