Not that it really offends me, but some underground rap also has anti-white lyrics (killing "devils" etc.).

And some metal has racist lyrics too. African Americans actually have a reason to be pissed at white people though, so it makes much more sense.

I agree....and I hate it when black people bring up the whole slavery/race issue - that was a long time ago and has little to do with this generation.

Talk Talk - New Grass
This bored the shit out of me, it was like a little kid in a big green grassy area pissing bright yellow into empty bottles, non stop for the whole song. Seriously I think the sound of piss going into a bottle would fit in nicely if weaved in through out this piece.

Fennesz - Rivers of Sand – is it like this the whole album? or is this from a space movie sound track. Gives me visions of a colourful bright plastic alien planet where nothing happens but the world spins by rapidly before your eyes.

This caught my attention a bit more, but I was waiting for more to happen, like someone screaming AHaHaaHHHaaaaaHHHaaaHHh because they just lost there hand in the factory machine that is this song. Also note the elevator he used to get to work music is mixed in. Also the end of this song reminds me of the rocket elevator in willy wonka flying off.


I will give Big Daves shit a listen another time and do a little write up, hope you enjoyed hearing about the experience your music brought me

Well, I don't to a great extent... Metal has made me more 'musically enlightened', so to speak... but I still abhor trance, hiphop and pop, and the fans who speak like they're the ultimate authority about music. It's sacriliegious to call those genres music, IMHO.

Or using the word "my pals" in Quelling the Simian Surge. They sing about history, but from a racist standpoint. For instance, Hereditary Taint is about the Holocaust, and is a PRO-Holocaust song. What makes Arghoslent great is the riffs, not the lyrics. I'm not one of those pc pussies who refuses to listen to un-pc bands.

Hmm. I thought that Flogging the Cargo was about the Iberian invasion of Central/South America ("journey to the centre of the plateau" "poisoned arrows" etc.). The name of the song suggests otherwise though. My favorite Arghoslent song.
