Drudkh - Blood In Our Wells

Blood in our Wells is not standing the test of time very well. Perhaps it's a seasonal thing but I listened to the whole album today and it just seemed too long and drawn out for its own good. Great songs, but does "Solitude" really need to be 13 minutes long? No it does not.

All that said, it's still the second best Drudkh album after AA.

Maybe this opinion will change in the fall but I dunno....

i dont listen to it that much at all. moved away from the epic stuff back to dirty grungy BM like early darkthrone, early Bathory, Gorgoroth, and hopefully Havohej

still i think BioW is a good album.

Man, the part that starts at ~3:27 in "Furrows of the Gods" STILL sounds like fuckin Dimmu Borgir - "Mourning Palace." And it's awesome

I was actually thinking about posting just this thing. I can't think of another CD that caused a large RC circle-jerk and then faded into oblivion (as quickly).

I'm wondering if we'll all be singing it's praises once again in late November.

Thanks a lot, that is very reassuring! I'll definitely wait for the vinyl and not buy the cd. Hmm I wonder about bonus material and different art, etc.

Well, I'd guess that there's no bonus and the artwork will be different, just like the case with the other 3 albums.

I noticed that Faustian's page was down, do you know if they still will release it or will it be handled by someone else?

Yes, FD doesn't operate on internet anymore, only paper-version is/was available and this autumn it will end also. However, Drudkh-vinyl be be released by NH/FD, just like the first 3 albums.

I think it's standing the test of time perfectly well. I'm sure this'll still be vying for the top spot in my year end list. This might even be my favorite Drudkh. I should go on a Drudkh listening spree to verify this.
