How're your thoughts on bands like Pokolgep, Rotor, Turbo, Ossian, Aria etc? I don't know many bands from here, but they are great imho. Especially Aria - Play with Fire and Pokolgep released some masterpieces (especially the first ones) as well.
Any further recommendations on bands like these?PS I know some are from Russia but..who cares :D

there is also a band called Karthago that had some good albums (and some very bad ones too) ...don't ask names, titles were in Hungarian I believe so I don't remember them. I also had an album of Cintron (Poland I think) , sounded very Iron Maiden -like. Another one is P-mobil ... (all of these are 80's)

Karthago is harder to find..

Cool, just saw P.Mobil members later went on to the band Pokelgep you mentioned. Is that an English version of the album you are DL'ing ? never knew there was one...

Try Stimulans from Croatia http://www.truemetal.org/stimulans/ :D

Great old school rock in the 21st century

Also STOS from Poland, thrash with female vocals. I doubt their album is available but I have it d/l complete in SoulSeek if anyone wants it ;)

I like Hungarian vinyl - it looks different...

Try Czech TITANIC 'Metal Celebration'.

Thanks for the promotion, Wyv... ;)
People, if you want to hear 80s Croatian bands, go to http://crometal.cjb.net, there's a short history and a Download page with mp3s as well.

You could check out Ultimatum as well, a band whose recording I produced recently. It's a newer band, but they are totally 80s (I hope the sound carries the same feel), you can download 2 of their songs at:
http://www.hardrockultimatum.com/download.htm
Although they like to force "hard rock" to describe themselves, they are plain ole heavy metal to me...

Please let me know what you think of these bands.

Does anyone listen Open Fire from Poland?Metal Inquisitor on their album The apparition has cover Twardy Jak Skala from OF album Lwy Ognia and its magnificent HM song and MI did it just like an original on Polish language!!!
