Election day thread

I didn't vote because I never had the chance to make it down to town hall.

I'm just glad all these stupid political ads are over with.

Right now up in Maine, Eliot Cutler is winning.

4 more years of Patrick in MA. Better than Baker, who claimed to be fiscally conservative and yet raised costs when he was the CEO of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care here in NE. Fail.

"I have solved this political dilemma in a very direct way: I don't vote. On Election Day, I stay home. I firmly believe that if you vote, you have no right to complain. Now, some people like to twist that around. They say, 'If you don't vote, you have no right to complain,' but where's the logic in that? If you vote, and you elect dishonest, incompetent politicians, and they get into office and screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You voted them in. You caused the problem. You have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote -- who did not even leave the house on Election Day -- am in no way responsible for that these politicians have done and have every right to complain about the mess that you created."

.

Not voting, but I am looking forward to a lot of Republican wins. It's not because I like Republicans (I don't); I'm looking forward to a gridlocked government. Seriously, I want the Democratic party to stop doing things. It's the best thing I can hope for at this point.

.

And I wholeheartedly agree with Carlin on that.

Edit: you would think the American voter would at some point realize that the political game in this country looks like a game of table tennis with the Democratic and Republican parties as the players and the voters as the little white ball.

 yeah you sure have some magical unattainable knowledge there br0sef

With no real suggestions it really is a bleak and defeatist point of view. Which is why Carlin was a comedian and this intellection on a metal board.

This is a sad day; shamelessly stolen from SA

Shit shit shit shit shit.

This is actually worse news than Prop 19. The three state Supreme Court justices that allowed gay marriage in Iowa have been removed based on a "merit selection and retention system" for removing Supreme Court justices, that has never been used since its creation in 1962.

Who's behind it? That's right, the fucks at NOM!

I did get a chuckle out of this though: http://whatthefuckhasobamadonesofar.com/

I didn't vote yet again. Mostly because I haven't been paying attention to the candidates, but also because I don't give a shit. I don't trust any of those weasels anyways.

In before all the artards start screaming YOU SHOULD VOTE, ITS YOUR RIGHT, NOT VOTING IS STUPID fucking dur hur.

I'm really glad I didn't vote in the last election because Obama and McCain are just retarded. That's seriously the best America can do as far as presidential candidates? Sad. There's no way I was going to use a vote on either of those loons.

"I don't trust politicians, therefore I will remain ignorant about them all and allow the ones I don't trust to take power over me."

Good thinking.

 You fucking think you wield some power of these guys? Are you serious? You probably do follow politics and politians and think you know what you're doing when it comes time to vote only to get fucked anyways. So how's that working out for you?

Politicians don't give a shit about us and you know it. They care about the pimp salary, uber benefits, and following their parties around like fucking sheep even though they probably don't truly agree with what they stand for.

I mean, isn't it just a little obvious that no matter what party is in office that something is always fucked and the people never seem to like what's going on? How the American people always seem to get the short end of the deal when it comes to just about everything?

Washington is what it is, and until there's some major overhaul or the citizens revolt against the government, nothing will change, and I'll probably never vote.

You're painfully shortsighted, but I don't have time to address that atm. Maybe after work.

You're 100% correct.

Chicago will once again fuck this state

That's right, bend over and take it bitch.

Also, I didn't vote, but I waited around too long to get an absentee ballot. So it's my own fault.

But as for the arguments criticizing those who don't vote, I can't stand them. It is someone's right, as a citizen, to vote; thus, it's their right to choose not to. It is not one's duty to vote.
