yup, I really like the natural look of the wood, especially because it's a neck-thru.

I did a preliminary set-up today so I could make the nut, so I got to take it for a rough test run. Plays perfectly, even without a fret leveling. (That doesn't mean it isn't still going to get one!). That kind of stuff makes my day!

So right now, back off with the strings, off with the nut for some final shaping and polishing, followed by a fret level and polish. Then a final set-up and she'll be ready to go.

I was blown away by the sound of the 81 at 18 volts. I never cared for EMG's before, but this may change things....

Cool! Never played EMG's with 18v by myself so I can't wait to hear the difference!
