Fall 2012 North American tour

Mind you, that tattoo pic above was taken on May 2. 2012 just minutes after it was finished by the tattoo artist Verena at Günnis Tattoowerkstatt in Horneburg, Germany. Fresh tattoos tend to look quite awful, all red-tinted and swollen until the skin has healed and colours settle down what they're intented to. She posted another pic of it (self-shot in a mirror) 9 days later where it looks fine alredy.

^Yes, I do know that tattoos do look kinda weird right after they are finished, and I did notice the skin was red. That's why I was trying not to criticize too harshly, since I wasn't entirely sure whether or not that photo was taken right after the tattoo was done. Thanks for clearing that up. :) But I must say, the design still looks kinda "squeezed in", as though it was too big for its space, you know?

Yea, kind of, but I think it's because the photo is "flat", I mean, projecting a 3D object on a 2D surface. Probably when you'd see it live on her shoulder it will notlook much squished at all. At least she seemed to love it when she presented it on her blog.

Thanks Avery; can we put these on our site?
Of course! :D I have the Kamelot Philly photos uploaded already, and I'm working on Nightwish right now, there are a ton of them, so it's taking a while. They'll be in the same folder, so you can use the first links for both. I was front and center in Philly, so they're better than the Beacon shots. :D Though Troy was obstructed by his mike, so I didn't get many good ones of him there. :( I got a whole pile of Emppu pics though. :Spin:

That's true, but I've seen lots of tattoo pictures and some manage to "pop off" the screen (or the page). This one doesn't take pictures too well, I'm afraid.

*Better* than the Beacon?! Wow, I think those pics are amazing!!! Thanks for sharing! :)

I know we've got some Emppuholics that lurk around here, I'm sure they'll be pleased to see those! :D

Yeah, Troy's a sneaky devil to get pictures of. ;) I couldn't get good shots of Emppu either; the best I ever managed was the top of his head.

I want to read some reviews and see some setlists!!! Anyone got anything out there? ;)

I heard they did 7 Days to the Wolves in Philly. I also read that they stopped doing encores. There's a new interview with Tuomas that confirms it here:

I don't mean to double post but I usually find fairly accurate setlists on last.fm here:

If I'm unsure or surprised at something I usually check it on youtube - they DID play Escapist in NY. I'm so jealous. 3 songs I would love to see but still have not seen: Escapist, Ever Dream, Ghost Love Score. If any of these manages its way to any of the nights I'm going, I will flip out. I'm noticing they aren't doing Scaretale every night which makes me nervous. Scaretale is my favorite *new* live song. It is SO much fun. I can't imagine not seeing it!

It's not one of the best because he was moving rather quickly at the time, but you still get that smile.
Annnnddd - Eye contact! :D I love being in the first row:

On that note, all the Philly photos are up now! :D

Thanks, Desi! That interview's going straight to our site(s)! Looks like they are mixing up the setlist pretty good. Much as I would love to hear "Escapist", I f*ckin' want "Dead to the World" and "Higher Than Hope" on my birthday. I don't care what other songs they do, as long as I can have those two. Are you reading this, Tuomas?

I would love to get "Scaretale" too, because that song was so awesome live, especially at Gibson. But I have to admit, I am dying to hear "Ghost River".

And thanks for those lovely photos, Avery! Your new camera works miracles! :D That last shot of Marco is killer! :)

^ I know right? I love that shot! Their lighting guys should get cookies for that one, it's a really nice effect.

Miguel Rozo of The Age Of Metal conducted this interview with Marco Hietala at Center Stage in Atlanta, GA on September 12th.

Last night's show in St. Louis (Sauget) was unbelievable! I was able to get an amazing spot, I loved the setlist, sound was great, got to meet the band and get a really nice tour poster signed, talked to Troy, heard (and saw) part of soundcheck. They were soundchecking Rest Calm, sounded great. I am still so amped about this I can't even think in complete sentences LOL..
I am so proud of one of the pictures I took!!! C is going to upload it to the site soon but here it is until then:

^Yes, we put this one up on our FB/Tumblr pages. Thanks so much for sharing! I felt like I was there with you whenever I got your texts. I'm so happy that you and Cara had a great time and that she *finally* got to meet Tuomas! Funny, but I get more excited for other people meeting the band than I do for myself!

I will have your pics up as soon as I can; they came out rather large so I am resizing the files to be: 1) small enough to not take up space but still be viewable, and 2) I am running out of memory on the Gallery site, so any bit of free space helps! :D A couple of them came out super-blurry when I resized and made them smaller, and I want to make sure that not too much of the quality is compromised. So it's a fine line to walk, but it's getting done! I'm hoping maybe by tomorrow afternoon they will be online, if I don't have any more distractions like I did today! ;)

Have a fun time in Kansas City tomorrow! I am wondering if maybe they soundchecked "Rest Calm" because they plan to play it at the KC show, or one of the upcoming shows? You must let us know if they did! :D
