Ashes Against the Grain is the only one I own and it's pretty enjoyable.

I never found any issue with the drumming, it isn't amazing from a technical standpoint but for Agalloch's style it can't be.

Same here and the production is excellent. I do prefere pale Pale Folklore and The Mantle musically regardless. Ashes Against The Grain has some things I really do not like but the songs Not Unlike The Waves,Limbs and Falling Snow get a 12 out of ten and make up for anything. I would say for a newer album ashes against the grain is very impressive.

Everytime in the store go look for another Agalloch album and their is only ashes against the grain. every music store I have been into.

I love both The Mantle and Pale Folklore, but I chose The Mantle because that's the one I actually bought and own. (Though I will get PF eventually.)

Yeah, I prefer the drumming on Mantle to AAtG.
