favorite death metal album?

So hard to choose...

The Jester Race definetely not, same with Tales From The Thousand Lakes, a good album but not really representative of death metal. If it's aesthetics you're looking for look beyond death.

If it had to be Carcass I'd say Necroticism which is superior to Heartwork IMO.

Morbid Angel, I'd say Blessed Are The Sick and not Covenant which is weaker.

Deicide - Legion, possibly, great album which also sold a lot for a death metal release.

Suffocation-Pierced from Within, Immolation-Close to a World Below, most of the others mentioned, yeah it's all great...

A few:
Morbid Angel- Domination/ Blessed are the Sick
Deicide- Legion/ Once upon the Cross
Immolation- Failure of the Gods
At the Gates- The Red in the Sky is Ours
Cannibal Corpse- Butchered at Birth
And of course-
Angelcorpse- Hammer of the Gods

Morbid Angel - Gateways to Annihilation.

quite underrated, the guitar playing is absolute genious. Trey and Erik are the ultimate combo in death metal, two creative and diverse styles combining to make perfection.... Trey's amazing sounds and other-worldly playing combine with the gut-wrenching melodicism of Erik's playing to the realm of pure genius. Perfection.

Massacre - From Beyond
Grave - Into The Grave
Obituary - Cause Of Death
Morgoth - Cursed
Suffocation - Effigy Of The Forgotten
and many many more...
