I agree as far as the solos on Death albums go, which is why I'm pretty confused why Schuldiner is winning so easily and why Akerfeldt is on the fucking list in the first place.

By the way, DANIEL MONGRAIN.

So true. Dan Mongrain should be there and I'd vote for him.

My favorite wasn't listed; Rob Vigna from Immolation.

He has such a unique original style, and some of the best solos/leads I've heard in all of death metal (check parts in songs like the intro to "Christ's Cage" and the solo section in "Higher Coward"... fucking amazing stuff).

What's your favorite Immolation album?

I want to make a poll to see if everyone agrees that polls like this should be on fuckin lockdown.

Do you EVER make any posts that read anything other than " X fucking sucks!" these days?

You used to say some relatively interesting things, once upon a time. Have you suffered a head injury since ?

Probably overall, Close to A World Below. It is their most concentrated work.

Their other albums come rather close too, considering how consistent in quality they pretty much are.

From the list Trey from morbid angel(first five). Jesper from In Flames is a great guitarist in his prime but I don't see him as a death metal guitarist, ex in flames guitarist Glenn probably is just as good, he probably gave in flames their edge that the band use to have. I would not consider fredrik thorndendal or paul masdival death metal guitarists. For the most part your list is typical and obvious choices that demenstrate you did not look to much into the style.

Mikael from opeth is a great guitarist that is influenced by death and black metal. I still would not label him as a death metal guitarist. I have an idea off what death metal is and regardless liking opeth they're not what death metal is about or what it sounds like. Real Death Metal imo is from the 80's and early 90's.
