I'm not a big fan of female singers in metal, but the Triosphere singer is the kind of female vox I like, not operatic, with full power. She's excellent.

I really like Dani Nolden (Shadowside) as well:

Leather Leone (Chastain) is another fave of mine

I enjoy Liv Jagrell (Sister Sin) also

Of course, I'm a fan of Doro's voice

I think newcomer Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast) is quite good too

There are others I forget at the moment...

See, I'm a huge fan of the operatic style. A pitch-perfect operatic singer gives me chills. My favorite of all time is probably Floor Jansen, but I'm also a huge fan of:

Heidi Parviainen - Ex-Amberian Dawn, now in a solo project called Dark Sarah

Sharon Den Adel - Within Temptation

Elize Ryd - Amaranthe (not operatic, but her voice is still clear as a bell. Here she uses a little different style than you see in Amaranthe in her audition tape for Nightwish for the spot Annette Olzon got)

Akane Liv - Liv Moon (the note she hits around 3:30 is one of the highest I've ever heard in a metal band)

Apparently I prefer women who sing for bands with the word "Thunder" in their name, as the two that come to mind are Miny Parsonz (Royal Thunder) and Nina Osegueda (A Sound of Thunder).

Nina and Floor were two of the first that came to mind for me. I'm not a fan of the operatic stuff. I like women who just sing. Dani from Shadowside was also a thought that came up instantly.

After having picked it up (finally) at the fest this year I'd definitely also throw in Sabrina of Seven Kingdoms. Lots of power in that little frame. The Fire is Mine is a great album that I should've gotten a long time ago.

Also, I'm a huge fan of Charlotte. I was a big skeptic when they were announced, but the lack of pretension in the music and the amazing show completely won me over.

I tend to prefer the female singers with some rougher edges. My favorite being Federica De Boni from one of my favorite bands White Skull, who recently reunited with them.

I'd have to go with Sabrina Valentine from Seven Kingdoms and Alyssa White-Gluz from The Agonist.

I like Charlotte Wessel on Delain's CDs, but something was missing live. Dont know if it was the mixing, but she sounded a little raw.

PromisedLand, good reminder... I love Alissa White Gluz from the Agonist. She's an incredibly talented singer and screamer.

I also love Charlotte from Delain and Elize from Amaranthe.
