Favorite Freewares

i'm pretty amazed at whats available for free today! you hardly have to buy more than your main recording application to yield amazing results.
some of my current faves:

http://home.btconnect.com/christopherg/main.htm (nice synth)
http://www.dasample.com/index.php?show=glaceverb (cool reverb)
http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/classic-series.php (cool vst-plugins. my faves: master limiter und phaser)
http://www.ultimatesoundbank.com/usb/exec/demo (download "plugsound free" : vst-instrument with different sounds (e-pianos, drums, bass, sitar and some more [50 mb download...] amazing quality)
http://www.naturalstudio.co.uk/sampled.html (samples in soundfont format, amazing drumkit, 70 mb download, bigger than 200 mb unpacked! like it a lot though its not especially "metal")
http://www.yohng.com/w1limit.html (programmer claims its a copy of the famous waves L1 limiter - and to my ears it actually works really cool!

have fun!

Guess I will record my demo with these ones:

triforce is a vst instrument that closely emulates the sounds of a classic nintendo entertainment system. there are only three wave types: square, triangle, and noise. there is also a simple arpeggiator for making classic 8-bit sounding tunes. version 1.5 lost the filters, as i felt they took away from the true sound of the synth.

TOAD toad is a drumkit based on the classic nintendo entertainment system. excellent quality percussive bits are here in abundance.version 1.1 adds a new graphical interface, and several performance enhancements.

P.S: I don't use freewares, just wanted bitch! (:

Yeah, all the plug-ins on that site are amazing. Big cheers to Hopkins for setting us up with that.

I don't get the need for those huge sampled mellotron libraries when you have something so good that weighs in at so little. The guys that create those plugs rock hard.

Highlites are the blockfish and endorphin

there is a free vst version of the Paris eq that is quite nice as well

I've heard good things about these but never checked them out.

Some cool program, not a plugin, a friend showed me:

If you use ProTools LE you can view Timecode via MTC/MMC. So if anyone works with LE and does stuff for Film like myself and doesn't want to spend $1000 on the DV Toolkit this is an easy solution.
We tested it out on an HD system which has timecode and the counters matched. Just set your nudge calue to 33ms which is approx a frame.

The only problem we found is when you hit stop it puts it about 2-3 frames off. But that's not a big deal.

They also have a bunch of free ProTools plugins and some RTAS/VST/AU stuff:
