burden is their own ballad together with maybe isolation years.

Obvious choice for me, Burden. Its much more epic and much more ballad-like than isolation years is, isolation is arguably a better song but not in terms of "ballad"

EDIT: There is a significant difference between ballad and "mellow" heh.

that's what I said in the other post re the same topic. The only song I consider a ballad is burden anyway, none of the others (maybe isolation years) is a ballad but mellow songs.
 
I'm among the minority, but my personal favorite Opeth ballad is Hours of Wealth. The song has a beautiful flow to it, and the solo is amazing.
 
Burden by far is a great pick , but Harvest is yet also awesome with its haunting, mysterious undertones. Just too close to call.
 
Good relative "Opeth" particular structure of autumnal ballads, more like sometimes like for me heavy doomish death/progressive their tracks.
