Hi all, this is my first post, however, i've been around here for a long time... must say that english is not my native tongue so i can't express myself quite good... i consider myself as a guy who enjoys a vast amount of music, and i think that near the top it's opeth, wich of course makes this decision so difficult, moreover, music is a state of mood, so as Tash said, they can differ with time... but i'll give you my today's favorite song on each album...
Orchid: almost ?, so difficult, but i choose The Twilight Is My Robe(3:44.. The guitar swells in the background, just like a violin or something magic... blow me away)
Morningrise: the same, a masterpiece... but i have to pick Black Rose Immortal (It was the first heavy stuff that i heard from Opeth, stunningly beautiful passages and lyrics)
My Arms Your Hearse: What can i say, my favorite album from this band... then again... April Ethereal ("I would outrun the scythe glaring with failure...", i piss my pants)
Still Life: Again... just a beatiful story, an amazing blend of feelings... Face Of Melinda (The turning point in the story, and astonishing and dramatic ballad)
Blackwater Park: So many good songs, but there's something that for me just doesn't fit in this album... i pick Dirge For November (One of the most dark and hopelessness songs i've ever heard)
Deliverance: I must say that i dislike this record, there's something wrong in its atmosphere... i figured out it could have been to mike like an unwanted child or something like that... but still got something special... For Absent Friends, the song that got me in to Opeth
Damnation: I think it was the first (complete) album i heard from Opeth, and every time i heard it its like a breath of fresh air... the song that i pick is In My Time Of Need, because, paradoxically, lift me up whenever i was down
Ghost Reveries: Great album, difficult choice... Ghost Of Perdition
Watershed: Wow! great album too... im very happy to see that their sound its improving with the years turning more progressive... Hessian Peel, a though decision, but i just can't take that song out of my head in this moment...
Well that's all...
