Well, you can say that, but it may not be true. What happens if they fire Joey or he "quits" or the production is bad, or he sux? No guarantees in this life.

The production won't be the vocalists fault. If Joey quits and someone else sings it is still possible to be a good record.

The biggest thing is going to be the song writing. It will be the music behind the vocals. If the music is a return to their Thrash roots and has a good production the album will most likely be good. Even if you hate Joey's vocals you still must admit that his Era of Anthrax was stellar. I think Scott and the boys have a lot more to prove musically than any vocalist would have to prove.

Not quite sure what you would classify as 'thrash metal' vocals. But I would say he pulled it off quite nicely. POT I don't hear anything 'progressive'

Agreed. Best Anthrax album bar none and like others the only one I can listen to straight through and love every song.

I got a hold of a show from Moscow from this year (Aug 8) and the only Bush era song they did was "Only." Now, when Joey came back and they put this song in the set, the first few times were a bit of a trainwreck but he seems to have gotten a hold on the song and does a great job on it now.

One song off of Volum 8 that would work well with Joey would be "Crush." It's not the high pitched vocals but it is still a great song live and would fit comfortably enough alongside the Joey material. While the Bush era is not my favorite (and it's not his fault, it's Charlie who does the brunt of the songwriting), there still are some good songs in there that could almost feel like new material with Joey singing on it.
