I think it's a great idea, I'd be up for it. However, my "mix tape" would most likely include industrial, and gothic music and generally what I'm listening to at the moment. So trade with me, if you're into that.

Actually though I don't think it should be limited to trading with only one person. I'll admit I probably wouldn't care at all to hear a compilation of music/bands I'm already familiar with (ie. black metal) just as much as I probably wouldn't care to hear a compilation of metalcore or something I don't like - so people should be able to check out anyone's mix tape.

I kinda think sending a physical cd adds a bit of charm that is lacking when you simply upload something. Uploading doesn't seem like much fun really.

Well, I think they should send them the song list before the CD is finalized, just in case there is something they KNOW they don't like and want it replaced with something else.

I would be more than happy to do this. Beware however, I will be putting a lot more than metal on my mix. Like Ozz said, I don't listen to a lot of metal that a fair bit of people aren't already at least somewhat familiar with. My mix will consist of metal, jazz fusion, Medieval folk, trance, & maybe a good dark ambient trak or two.

I agree 100%. No megaupload or any of that crap.

No, I think that takes away from the charm of it as well. Even if some of us wind up getting something we already have we would get an insight on SOMEONE ELSE'S (OMFG) overall taste.


I think this is a great idea, & I wouldn't mid doing it more often. I will try to make my mix CD tomorrow.
