First Metal Purchase?

What was the first even semi-metal CD you bought? Mine was Poison, "Open Up and Say Ahh!" There's a classic.

It wasn't until I purchased Metallica's "Justice" that it really went downhill for me, though. Until that time I was actually salvageable, now I'm totally lost.

God, can I even remember...I dunno, I know my Dad was always a big Van Halen and Whitesnake fan, so at a young age I could be seen enjoying some Still of the Night, hehehe. Other than that it might have been some Megadeth...

I had about ten copies of Apetite for Destruction because it was all I would listen to. I'd wear it out and go buy a new one. This went on until fourth grade when I discovered Metallica. As I said, that's when my life really went into a tailspin. Now I'm so far gone it's funny.

I think it may have been Metallica - Ride the Lightning, when it first came out..

CD? the first *CD* I bought was Metallica, I think. At 13 or 14 or so, I think it was the Load album. (Hey, you said semi-metal. I know it's far out there, but still)
Though I DID "pirate copy" a cassette of black album when I was like 8 or 9.. I really liked enter sandman then. I was an adorable child

I feel so very sorry for you.

Of course I had to hear that one after already being a fan for eight years. That one is superior to "Open Up and Say Ahh!" but then not by much.

When I was about 5 or 6 I had a recorded tape of Metallica - AJFA, about a year later I bought my own copy.

well personnaly I don't own any metallica albums my brother does, so the first one of his i heard was the Black Album, the first sorta Metal Album I purchased was Guns 'N Roses Appetite for Destruction.

The first metal CD I bought myself must have been CoB - Follow the Reaper
I'm not into metal for too long you see and then I took some time until I bought my first CD...

Mine was Metallica's Justice, then I went and bought Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets at the same time a few weeks after. I think it's good that I started out with their old stuff, so I wasn't sucked into their newer sound.

Van Halen - 1984 on cassette. Followed shortly thereafter by Twisted Sister - Stay Hungry, Helix - Walkin' the Razors Edge, and Iron Maiden - Powerslave

Well, either Metallica Kill'em All or Slayer Show No Mercy. That was so long ago, I don't really remember too well.

Might have been Judas Priest.
