well....we are talking football....so i dont want to begin talking about politics....but of course it is not the same Germany......
I don't hate Germans as well as I don't want Germans to hate me (as jewish or anything else).

besides....I am half German, and visited Germany for 3 times already (4th time in a month).....and i have to say that I love Germany and it's people!

I hope the world will learn from the relastionship between Israel and Germany.....

it is just amazing that first Argentina and than Brazil and England, fell from the world cup.....it was really surprising......
I really wanted to see Argentina-Brazil match!

@EGOR: i don't know if you noticed...but...Brazil is out.

And by the way i'm really pissed about that WWII story in here! Every year we celebrate the ending of war and so on and we still feel guilty about what our grandfathers did although the people there (at those celebrations) weren't even born when the worldwar was, my parents weren't even born!

i think this has to stop someday. It's important not to forget, don't get me wrong, but there's no point in blaming germany still for what people that are long since dead have done. it has changed very much here. if aou don't believe it come and look yourself.

Actually i'm German and my boyfriend is an Israeli Jew.


So what about forgeting about politics and start discussing football again?! Where will you wath the game tonight?

Me and my friends go to a public.viewing in Stuttgart and the expect more than 180.000 people to come... hopefully we will survive the day....
 
I hope Italy wins today and Portugal tomorrow. I'm Brazilian and am still bummed about the ridiculous game played last weekend against France.

It feels like Brazil didn't show up to play the game. They got 11 bums in the streets and gave them yellow shirts. Ugh...

it is really important to remember, cause we don't want another holocaust to happen.....
all my granparents' families were killed by the nazis....
but i can't blame the great new generation.....and maybe the dark past made the new generation as they are.....


and i have to say that me and my friends are really depressed after Germany lost today......!!!

I hate those kind of comments! If Germans were all as wicked as Hitler was, Bush would of killed them all by now and nobody, jew or not, would want Germany to win or host the FIFA world cup! The FIFA world cup is about football, it's about respect!

Many of my close family is jewish as for my ancestors and I was taking for Germany in this semi-final. Not for what ONE of them done 50 years ago but for how they played recently in the Fifa World Cup!
 
Thank you all guys for the support. i'm glad we're off the politics and bac to topic.

You know, there were thousands of people yesterday in the streets, italians AND Germans (We have a lot of italians living in Germany) and the most wonderful thing yesterday was that we were all partying together. The italians came along to told us how sorry they were about germany being out and we didn't feel anger because they kicked us out two minutes before finishing extratime.

Shit happens;)

The good thing is, The game for the third Place is in Stuttgart and Friends of mine won tickets for it, so they will see a Germanymatch and are really happy about it.



Lets see who wins tonight... i think it will be Portugal but i would want France to win and become Worldchampion:) Cause if italy wins, we will not sleep the whole weekend because of them partying in the streets all night:)

to clear things up a little it wasn't one man who did these aweful things 50 years ago there was a whole machine of death...
and what i said is I know what you mean doesn't mean I support this way of thinking and besides The Germany now has a large number of immigrants who's ancestors were against the nazis...some of the players on the german team are immigrants or sons of immigrants.

but hey, it's only football and it is about respect between players aspecially considering the fact that player on opposite teams in the world cup play together on the same team in europe or south america like Beckham and Figo for instance.

Dont feel guilty about your grandparents...they were doing what they felt was right at the time....German grandparents are great, but every single society in the history of mankind has done things in its time, even the Jews who massacred 100s of thousands in Russia after the war. american slave trade, Ruwander, Serbs, British empire in india etc..etc. Nothing to feel guilty about whatsoever. My only concern about germany is its going too far to the left. apparentely its an offence to do a hitler salute in germany ? and you can be arrested for this.....to me this is too far in an extreme direction.........no more extremes in our lives that was for the past. Multiculturalism??? to a certain degree yes but if we are all to become one big happy one race family then I think that is another extreme. History goes around in circles.....but you can still have freedom of thought. and you may be missing the point in what i am saying ..........and its about the human race in general, ask your boyfriend how many Palastinian friends he has? do you understand what i am saying?... nothing against him personally but its all bollocks............ and on the subject of football...well I used to like footie but its all gone a bit 1-1 draw recently..............winners and losers who cares?.

it is bullshit......i believe that only low percentage of the german people were really pro-nazis......
i am sure most of the germans were against the government.....and even didn't really know everything what happened inside their own country.....as most israelis don't know what is happening in gaza strip.....(and of course i don't do comperison).

and you can't really know......i think you have to be german person in the 30's to understand what made them to see Hitler as a saviour.......
the situation in Germany that time was really bad!
the economy is wrose than ever, and he promised a volkswagen and radio to each family!
