for those that enjoy Orphaned Land...

Glad to see others appreciative of Orphaned Land. I had it at my #1 spot of 2004 on our 'zine, RC. Overall, it came third, just after Drudkh and Ayreon.

If you want to go slightly more extreme, you MUST check out the band, Melechesh. Absolutley stunning stuff....start with "Sphynx". I reviewed it if you're interested.

Yeah, it would be nice if Glenn went for more 'not so polished at Finnvox' acts but then I suppose there would be 3 of us left watching the show. Both Orphaned Land and Hammers of Misfortune would be good candidates for PP. One day maybe... *crosses fingers*

You are evil sir. I still kick myself that I wasn't able to make it up to toronto last year for Northern Lights fest to witness Melechesh

I also wonder if Glenn knows about the Greek band Wastefall? ProgMaiden a few weeks brought them up on the Portnoy forum and now finally havinbg the chance to hear samples from their site: http://www.wastefall.com I gotta say, I hope they are on Glenn's list. They have an obvious PoS influence..the vocalist has a similar style to Daniel Gildenlow along with Zak Stevens and Michael Tangerman from Superior.

I hear POS influence and my curiousity is peaked. Damn, I will be a broke old guy with tons of cds o_O

Yeah, I missed it too. I didn't realize they even played last year until I saw this year's line up recently.

All I can say is, Melechesh >>>>> Impaled Nazarene.

Glad I checked out those Wastefall samples...very glad...

Melechesh is cool too, when I first heard them I really wasn't digging it, but they grew on me.

OK, so I'm looking all over Wastefall's website for a means of buying their CD but I cant find anything...

So how the hell do I buy this CD??

Oh my gosh....Orphaned Land playing in the United States at Prog Power.....unbelievable. I mean, considering the chances of this happening, surely this has to be one of Glenn's greatest accomplishments - ESPECIALLY because I assume they're the "odd ball" band. AND in a mid-level slot.

Glenn, if you ever need a kidney....

Couldn't agree more. I'd almost lost hope for Orphaned Land in 2005 -- for me, this puts the festival "over the top"...not that Therion and the other bands aren't terrific, of course, but after this, it can only go from "awesome" to "stupendous." :D

they are band I am very intrigued by after hearing samples. Finally a band who may be tastefully combining middle-eastern ethnic music and metal.

Avalon did that a little bit on the "Eurasia" release. Their former singer, Chitral (Chity Lanka) Somopala is from Sri Lanka. It's a very good melodic powermetal album.

lasercd.com

I think he sold out but has more coming in next week. I believe they were $15 each.

Never fear m3t4lh34ds!

Amazon sells Mabool Here and they still have the first pressing, which brings the bonus alive acoustic CD. As of right now they only have 1 more so the next one will be the lucky one :Smug:

I guess you haven't heard of the great Pantagram/Mezarkabul or Comma, who I believe split up. Vrry killer music from Turkey
