Is anyone getting sick of seeing a members first post asking where to get all the impulses and drum samples? Usually someone will help them out and then they will never be heard from again. I have a nice kick drum sample that I haven't donated to the ftp yet just for this reason. Anything I upload is intended for contributing members of the forum, not some jackass from another forum who heard we have good free stuff to download.

I see guitarhacks impulses being hocked all over the net and in certain instances i've seen his name removed and someone else had inserted theirs. This is unacceptable to me.

The other day I also found someone running a fucking website for some cheesy latin group with children singers off of Kazrogs forum!

To all the non forum contributers...FUCK OFF.

I know what you mean and am thinking similar.
you won't be able to stop that though (unless see "solution a") and I think that's just how the internet works.

"solution a": password could be changed and given to members with more than x posts via PM...

I actually think that this wouldn't be a bad idea, but we germans have a history in doing stuff like that, so I'm probably not the person to suggest stuff like that ;)

Haha, then we'll start getting spammers coming into rate my mix threads and just saying things like, "nice", or in here saying "lol". Just kidding, of course, but it could happen.

I do wish the regulars had more privileges, however.

That has been my exact thinking for quite a while. I don't want to be overly protective of my work, because I've learned a lot from this forum and sharing my results just makes sense...but imagining all of the random people who will come along and mooch, who have no interest in actually learning, keeps me from doing it.

i totaly agree with where your coming from but then theres also people in my position who have recently joined the forum and are still learning and you really wouldnt want to use much of the stuff ive put together so far. but yeah maybe there should be a way of limiting who can download, just make it something that doesnt cut off people like me who this stuff helps incredibally.

I'm sure that this was not directed towards ppl like you!

It certainly wasn't.

New members are always welcome here and are welcome to use whats offered here. And what I mean by contributing member is not what samples or impulses you offer but what you provide to the community in general whether it's recording tips, unbiased opinions about gear or just a good sense of humor.

It's the people who sign up just to download all the resources we've compiled, ask how to use them after not reading the million other posts detailing these processes and then disappear.

Everyone here is really cool and all about helping one another out. It just seems like what we have gets taken advantage of by ungrateful outsiders.
